There are three main positions: Researcher, Solutions Consultant (sometimes referred to as a Mentor or Guide, depending on capacity), and Blogger.

A Researcher’s responsibilities include:

• Providing a Solutions Consultant with relevant information as pertaining to the client.
• Researching any topics requested by the Solutions Consultant.
• Disseminating relevant information to anyone who needs it.

A Solutions Consultant’s responsibilities include:

• Working with a Researcher to become well-informed on any relevant topics that pertain to the client’s case.
• Interacting with clients in a manner that supports the client as is appropriate.
• Assist a client with his or her situation to the extent of the mission of the organization.
• Resolving the issue posed by the client.
• Responding to all of a client’s emails and phone calls in a timely fashion.

What’s with the terms Solutions Consultant, Mentor and Guide?

A solutions consultant is the general term that includes Mentors and Guides. The difference simply lays in your skill level and qualifications. A Mentor will be more equipped to handle complex situations. A Guide is usually someone with less experience and will therefore be given less responsibility. Guides usually perform in a more limited capacity and work closely with a Mentor. Internally we refer to ourselves as Solutions Consultants.

A Blogger’s responsibilities include:

• Updating the Blog on a regular basis with relevant material.
• Providing assistance to the Researcher as needed.
• Handling public relations matters.
